About Pastels...
The East Bay Mud Women gathered to make pastels. Handmade pastels are the most vibrant pastels available.
Each women rolled one color, binding pure pigments with chalk.
Our collective efforts produced a box of vibrant colors for each artist.
The black paper is made in France with a rough surface.
Technique:
Using black paper requires the artist to reverse out an image, using space as line.
The line (or black space) in this image is the black paper.
